Lifting Techniques

No athlete will be allowed to perform any type of lift unless their technique is perfect!  Under the direct supervision of Austin Wasserman, Co-Founder and Director of Strength & Conditioning at AB, each athlete will have thorough instruction on technique.  Training bars and body weight exercises are the initial protocol for each athlete until they prove their technique is exceptional. For the youth population, this is the majority of their training. Proper movement patterns of lifting technique need to be established so when they mature, their body is familiar with the lifts.

When the athlete has shown they can successfully execute each lift, they will be carefully monitored.  Perfect execution of techniques will take extreme focus and concentration!  The athlete’s will also learn to understand why each exercise is performed, learn the muscles involved and how the exercise can be applied to their sport.
