Program: 2009 Fall Arm Strength Program
This is the first program we have done with this athlete. He worked hard and saw a big improvement. His max velocity improved 4 mph, but his average velocity improved 5 mph. This means that during his testing, his five throws averaged 66 mph with a high of 68 mph. During final testing, his average velocity was 71 mph and a max velocity of 72 mph. (His for throw was 67, then last 4 throws were all 72 mph.) These are results that will translate into the game!
Here is what he had to say about our program:
1. What do you like most about this program?
The pulldown phase of the long toss program
2. What were your perceptions before we started?
I thought it was just going to be another boring camp.
3. How have your perceptions changed?
I thought it was fun and I would definitely do it again.
4. What are the three biggest benefits of the program?
1. I throw harder.
2. I know why stretching is so important now.
3. I learned exercises I can do on my own to help me.
5. Would you recommend this program?
Yes.
